I rode out of the park and reached the North Carolina Museum of Art. There are paths winding among the installations. In general, networks of pedestrian and cycling trails are called greenways.

By the way, I finally found the answer to something I’d been wondering about for a long time. A highway differs from ordinary roads mainly in that it always has grade-separated interchanges (no intersections) and a median strip. Bicycles and pedestrians are not allowed on highways.
